At PMG, we understand that strong, forward-thinking leadership is important to safeguarding and growing our clients' investments over the long term. We are pleased to share key leadership changes that reflect this commitment as we continue to strive to be a fund manager and property partner of choice.
After more than eight years of outstanding service, our Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Nigel Lowe, announced that he would be stepping down to spend more time with his family and pursue new governance roles. Throughout his tenure, Nigel has been a cornerstone of PMG’s success, guiding the business through significant milestones and helping us achieve financial stability and growth. Under Nigel’s leadership, PMG secured our Managed Investment Scheme license from the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) and embedded robust governance and compliance frameworks, enabling PMG to continue to deliver on our investor commitments.
Nigel’s contributions were recognised in 2021 when he was named SME Finance Leader of the Year, a testament to his strategic vision and dedication to building a resilient business. We are fortunate that Nigel will continue to support PMG in his ongoing roles on the PMG Board, Investment Committee, and PMG Charitable Trust. His legacy provides a solid foundation for the next stage of PMG’s growth.
With Nigel’s transition, we are delighted to welcome Matt Baker, who joined PMG as our new Chief Financial Officer in February 2025. The CFO role is central to PMG’s long-term growth and success, serving as a key member of the executive leadership team. In this capacity, Matt will lead PMG’s financial planning, management and transparent reporting to ensure robust and informed decision-making. He will also oversee PMG’s compliance, legal and risk functions and deliver insights for effective strategic planning to the executive team and board. Collaborating with other leaders across the business, Matt will focus on driving growth initiatives while maintaining strong internal controls and optimising capital funding strategies to support PMG and the continued success of our funds.
Matt brings over 15 years of experience in financial leadership across highly regulated industries in New Zealand and London. His career includes senior roles in Big 4 accounting firms, fund management, and banking, where he developed a reputation for delivering strategic insights, financial clarity, and strong leadership.
With Matt on board, we are well-positioned to capitalise on new opportunities and continue delivering sustainable, long-term results for all of our stakeholders.
